Yeah, I think that is correct. You must apply to the consulate in your home country does sound very familiar. I have gotten two visas to Russia in 2008, but I was in the U.S. both times I applied. That does sound familiar as though I read that somewhere at the Russian Consulate website.

Russia and Israel launch visa-free travel

Travelling from Russia to the Promised Land has never been easier - from September 20 those Russian citizens entering to Israel will no longer need visas. The deal was signed in March in the hope of expanding cultural and tourism ties between the two countries.

Its expected the number of Russian tourists will increase. Israeli Tourism Minister Rukhama Abraham says: In 2007 we received 193,000 Russian tourists. By 2009 we expect that more than 400,000.

Russians will be able to stay in Israel without a visa for 90 days, meaning they can take full advantage of the long summer and Israels beaches. But tour guides are also hoping for the more discerning cultural visitor.

A tourist from Russia is looking for something to touch his soul, to see Israels sacred places and the religious sights. But of course he won&#39;t forget about normal secular life - and there are plenty of places to go, said Aleksey Zabludovsky, a tour guide.

This all makes good business sense but the visa relaxation will also help people who travel for personal reasons. Almost one fifth of Israels population comes from the former Soviet Union and theyve welcomed the news.

The reciprocal deal was signed back in March 2008. It was a big step for the two countries.

Diplomatic ties between the two countries were severed following the six-day war in 1967. Real improvement was made when former Russian president Vladimir Putin visited three years ago. Now attention is firmly focused on the future.

I hope you don&#39;t include the Greeks in your comments above?
</div>

Greeks... :rolleyes:

well in continuation of my story about come to the end business trips to Kazakhsatn because of the fall of the USSR.... Thread is ruined anyway So off topic is no crime I presume.

Greeks were the first &quot;foreigners&quot; we ( I mean me and my former co-workers) were &quot;lucky&quot; to deal with. Before that our institute was one of those so called &quot;mail boxes&quot; wich workers were not allowed to talk to any &quot;foreigners&quot;
But times changed, intitute&#39;s &#39;objects&quot; became a property of new independent states and institute was left to survive somehow by its own without state&#39;s contracts.

The only one property wich could bring any money in 90s was a building. So managers thought of nothing better but to lease a part of our builing to Greek&#39;s company.
Those Greeks were partners of some Russian company wich organized &quot;Lotto Million&quot; in Russia. They had a need in space for their VAX and a personal to work with it.

The first thing Greeks did was they hired special security sevice and put guys with kalashnikovs ( no jokes, those were real weapones ) in each corridor leaded on their territory . Mind you the institute itself was protected more than enough from any inteference from &quot;a street&quot; So those guns were for us ( who worked &quot;inside&quot;) as if we were ready to intervent &quot;their&quot; terrotory in order to steal something from there.

Then Greeks took circular saws and ruined our experimental model to clean a space for their VAX ( bought at some &quot;sale&quot; like it seemed :rolleyes: ) Of course that was not exactly Greek&#39;s &quot;fault&quot; But anyway watching how they were ruining a result of efforts of so many people didn&#39;t create any warm feeling to Greeks

After that Greeks collected all of us in conference hall and made an attempt to hire a staff for their &quot;Lotto Million&quot; But before of all they read us a lecture how Russians are supposed to work for western company, Lecture included about 30 minutes of babling how Russians are lazy, can&#39;t work properly, used only to get money for nothing and etc. So Russians should learn from Greeks ( :rolleyes: ) how to work. That all was declaim in front of high qaualified engeeners who got state awards for their work (wich was rare case in USSR for exactly &quot;engeneers&quot; , so such awards never were given for &quot; nothing&quot;)
Those who could swallow such attitude of new bosess could get a job - ... the most &quot;genius&quot; could count on a job of WAX servicer , other should be glad they get a job of seller of tickets in those Lotto Million&#39;s &quot;kennels&quot;

So that was my personal first experience of dealing with foreigners . Unlucky for Wiz that were nobody else but Greeks. And no drinks Wiz promices now to buy me could wanish that opinion ( biazed one of course but anyway) about Greeks in &quot;general&quot; from my commi mind. So better not to remind me about Greeks roots. Each time that brings not pleasant memories

:innocent:

Just typical westernized males who came from soiciety where such thing like separated bills exist, even if they invited a woman to a dinner &lt;shrug&gt; Old story and not big deal .... I learned my lesson ... but Donhollio decerves a kick nevertheless :-P:</div>

I hope you don&#39;t include the Greeks in your comments above?
